Plein Air Painting in the Appalachian Mountains - Day Rate
Plein Air Painting in the Appalachian Mountains - Day Rate
Join artist Wes Sherman for two days of plein air painting in the scenic Blue Ridge Highlands of southwest Virginia and the Blue Ridge Mountains of northeast Tennessee. Each day will include travel to new locations for opportunities to paint awe-inspiring vistas, pristine forests, mountain streams, and picturesque natural landmarks, like the rock formation Backbone Rock in the Cherokee National Forest.
Stay for three nights at the charming and historic Damascus Old Mill Inn, located on the banks of Laurel Creek, in Damascus, Virginia. Known as “Trail Town USA,” Damascus is situated at the intersection of several nationally known trails.
This experience is for painters, both experienced and beginners, and anyone interested in working en plein air. This lovely region, well-known to Sherman, whose family resides nearby, has been an inspiration for many of his own paintings, like “Sunset Over Shady Valley”. Come see it—and paint it—for yourself!
